Jule Salfeld joined our group for her Bachelor thesis, working on the implementation of an infection-inducible system to manipulate cell cycle progression in planta. She then did her Masters degree at Lund University (Sweden) in the group of Olivier Van Aken, working on engineering insect pheromone synthesis in plants as a strategy of pest control. Luckily, she returned to Freiburg and started her doctoral thesis in the lab in Mai 2023 where she works on molecular mechanisms controlling rhizobial infections in legumes.
